- This morning I found myself yelling at the radio, because Mike Huckabee says we need to know more about President Obama's childhood in Kenya, and we just don't know that much about him...never mind that the president has written two autobiographies and done zillions of interviews.
- On the radio last night, NPR did a story about how the GOP wants to cut funding for OSHA - the agency that helps protect workers from potentially fatal injuries at work. OSHA is killing jobs huh? I'd rather have it do that than let the jobs kill the people!
- In Ohio, an anti-choice group says they are going to have a nine-week old fetus "testify" in a legislative committee hearing.
- Westboro Baptist Church, a "Christian" group that protests outside military funerals because they say all military deaths are just punishment for the United States' homosexual behavior, won a case that says their speech should be protected under the First Amendment. Really? Since when did hate speech become something that needs to be protected?

What is wrong with you people?!
Every time something crazy happens, like a proposal to investigate miscarriages, I think "Surely the country isn't that stupid." And every time I am wrong. There have been so many crazy stories lately that I am on the verge of crawling into a hole under a rock just to get away from it. A sampling:
