I am putting this slight rant out into the world in the hopes that it will have some sort of karmic effect on the problem: While we were in Bellevue over Christmas, we took a trip to our favorite used book store and bought some books. And, since it was Christmas at the Donovan household, books were also given as gifts. Too many books to be carried home in our suitcases. So, I packed them up into a box and mailed them to Maumelle using the inexpensive media rate. Over a month later, they have not arrived.
I have never had this kind of problem with the post office before. I have used the media rate many times to send and receive books, and they always arrived within a week or so. I want my books! Are you listening, guardian angel of the post office? Send me my books.
There. Now that I have aired my grievance publicly, maybe my books will be waiting for me when I get home one of these days.

Gosh. I think I've had to wait up to a month, but never longer. Maybe all the snow has interfered with their progress!
Libby - There was no snow on December 26th when I mailed the package. The person I spoke to at the post office just gave me a lecture about how I really should have put delivery confirmation on the package, which I already figured out. Sigh.
